After breakfast at the hotel, depart by plane for sunny Santorini, made famous by the books of Jules Verne as well as by decades of speculation about it being the mythical Atlantis. Created by a volcanic explosion, this stunning island features steep cliffs that descend into the sparkling blue waters of the Aegean Sea.
Visit Volcan Winery, an idyllic family-owned winery, which has been in business from 1660 to the present. Indulge in a delicious wine-tasting event as Junior Adventurers delight in grape-stomping. Then, join your fellow Adventurers for a private lunch made with fresh local ingredients. After lunch, visit the Volcan Winery's underground museum and hear stories about this revered winery from its origins on, tracing its success from its well-tended vineyards to the tables of fine restaurants.
En route to your next hotel, enjoy a stop in the town of Fira. Meander down charming cobblestone streets lined with shops and cafés. And take in a view of the caldera—a large depression in the ground resulting from the collapse of the volcano that formed this area.

Begin your day with a tasty breakfast and get ready for some fun in the sun. The venture out on a private boat that's chartered for the entire day. Begin by crossing the azure waters of Santorini's underwater caldera to explore the volcanic island of Nea Kameni—one of 2 black lava islets located at the center of the basin.
Marvel at the lunar landscape as you embark on a "lava walk" up to the volcano's rim, which provides an extraordinary view of the Aegean Sea below. Your Adventure Guide describes the geology as well as the mythology of how Santorini was formed. After the lava walk, cool down with a dive into the Aegean Sea for a refreshing swim. Explore the Archaeological Site of Akrotiri and the ruins of this "Minoan Pompeii." Learn about the volcano under Santorini that erupted in 1627 BC and how this Minoan Bronze Age settlement was buried in volcanic ash. That same ash preserved frescoes and other artworks for posterity. At the museum, examine these artifacts as well as the instruments and tools of everyday life that were used by this lost civilization.
After the coach takes you to Oia’s main square, you’ll be amazed at this picturesque village and how it is terraced down the steep slope of the caldera, with houses built into the niches. You'll have the afternoon here to have lunch and enjoy on your own. Visit old and new structures that vary in both size and grandness. After you explore the village, enjoy a relaxing lunch on your own at one of the many cliff-side tavernas.
Later in the afternoon, return to the Majestic Hotel Santorini for a bit of recreation and relaxation.
