Velkomið (welcome) to Iceland! Fly into Keflavík International Airport (KEF), where you will be greeted by your driver who will handle your luggage and transportation, first to the Blue Lagoon, and then to the Icelandair Hotel Reykjavik Marina.
Start your vacation off with some serious relaxation at this oasis serenity. You’ll head to the Blue Lagoon before you check into your city-center hotel, for an extraordinary experience that includes a silica mud mask, sauna and steam rooms and a man-made waterfall that will help melt away any jet lag. Then, you’ll enjoy a delicious meal made from fresh and natural Icelandic ingredients in the stunning, modern surroundings of LAVA restaurant, a part of the Blue Lagoon complex.
As your Adventure Guides prepare for your 3:00 PM check-in, enjoy exploring this lively hotel with a whimsical feel. Notice the traditional Icelandic designs that references the island’s maritime culture – which is evident by its waterfront location. The hotel is walking distance from the quaint shops, restaurants, galleries and entertainment in the old harbor area. Meet your fellow Adventurers and Adventure Guides before setting off for a fantastic dinner and local beer tasting at the nearby Bryggjan Brugghús Bistro and Brewery.
Take a stroll down the waterfront with the other Adventurers to Bryggjan Brugghús Bistro and Brewery, a trendy brew pub that exemplifies the burgeoning craft beer and farm-to-table movement that is all the rage in Reykjavik. You’ll enjoy a tasty welcome meal as well as a tasting of some of the popular local brews.

Start your morning off with a tasty breakfast before heading out for your first day of adventures in Iceland.
Located next to Lake Thingvallavatn, the largest lake in Iceland, the remarkaable Thingvellir National Park is home to a beautiful canyon which is the meeting point of two of the Earth’s tectonic plates. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the location where the world’s oldest form of parliament first assembled in 930 A.D. and, over 1,000 years later, on June 17, 1944, the site where parliament members signed and solidified Iceland’s independence from Denmark.
Spend some in the idyllic country setting of this wonderful farm that has been family-owned since 1850, where you’ll taste their famous homemade ice cream.
See thousands of tons of water cascade down the majestic two-tiered Gullfoss Waterfall into the deep canyon below. This is truly one of the most magnificent waterfalls in Iceland.
Visit Strokkur Geyser and explore this geothermal area where you’ll come across a myriad of bubbling hot springs and geysers. Among them is Strokkur Geyser, the area’s most active geyser which spouts almost 90 feet every few minutes.
You’ll feel right at home at Friðheimar Greenhouse Farm, a family-run tomato farm and restaurant that invites you to see their working greenhouses, then enjoy a delicious taste of the crop for lunch.
Visit the Kerið Crater. This volcanic crater, a popular Icelandic attraction that was formed nearly 6,500 years ago. Located in the Grímsnes area in South Iceland, the massive crater measures 890 feet across, 560 ft. wide and 180 ft. deep. Adventurers can choose between a walk around the crater’s rim or around the natural pool below.
Saddle up and ride through the scenic south west coast on an Icelandic Horse, just like the Vikings who introduced this unique breed to Iceland. Whether you're an advanced rider or an absolute beginner, you'll find the perfect gait to enjoy your ride through the gorgeous island scenery. Please note: There is a weight limit of 265 lbs. for the horseback riding activity.
Adults will savor a dinner at Slippbarinn featuring delicious local fare, where the food has a classic foundation with a twist to showcase the freshest ingredients. The kids will enjoy hanging out and grabbing a bite together before settling in for a movie.

Refuel after your morning hike with lunch at Skaftafell Visitors Center Cafeteria and get ready to hit the trail for an afternoon glacier hike and boat tour.
Grab your crampons and hit the ice as you set out on this amazing glacier hike adventure where you will explore the dramatic terrain of ice formations, glacier-carved landscapes and vast panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. A glacier expert guide accompanies you every step of the way.
Board one of the motorized amphibian boats, then set out among the massive icebergs broken off from Vatnajökull, Europe's largest glacier, now adrift on the iconic Jökulsárlόn Glacier Lagoon. You'll learn the lagoon's history, which includes being the location for many Hollywood blockbuster films. Also, be sure to listen closely for the unforgettable sound of the glacier "calving."

Following dinner, you and your fellow Adventurers will check in to your accommodations at the Icelandair Hotel Vik, an elegant and contemporary hotel that is designed to reflect its natural surroundings. Rooms offer unique views of either the nearby cliffs or the sea and Reynisdrangar Pillars.

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading to the airport for your flight to Akureyri.
Transfer to Reykjavik Domestic Airport (RKV) for your flight from Reykjavik to Akureyri, which is approximately 40 minutes.
Relax and enjoy a lovely lunch at Baccalá Bar, overlooking Eyjafjörður Bay. The restaurant features delicious local fish dishes, as well as a non-fish option.
Visit the quaint fishing village of Ektafiskur and fish factory where you will learn about the fascinating history about its connection to the fish industry in Iceland. You’ll tour the facilities and see all the steps involved in exporting salted cod. Plus, for those brave Adventurers with a strong stomach, you can join “The Rotten Shark Club of Hauganes” by tasting fermented shark – and you’ll receive a verification card to prove that you actually did it!
Set sail from Hauganes, a small fishing village along the west bank of Eyjafjörður— the longest fjord in Iceland—and keep a watchful eye out for the humpback whales that swim throughout these waters, surfacing to say hello to whale watchers. Adventurers can also try out some cod fishing from the boat.
Enjoy a hearty meal of burgers, barbecue ribs, pizzas and other main course entrees at this terrific restaurant located in the oldest house on the pier at Akureyri.

The farm at Grenjaðarstaður dates back over a thousand years to Iceland’s settlement. The picturesque turf house that currently stands was one of the country’s largest, with its oldest part dating back to 1865. This museum display offers a unique glimpse into how life once was for the Icelandic people.
Explore the seaside village of Husavik on your own with much to offer. Visit the village’s unique Whale Museum (ticket included), check out the natural surroundings or stroll through the local shops of this wonderful town.
Head back to Akureyri, Iceland’s 2nd largest urban area which earned it the nickname, “the Capital of North Iceland,” where you and your fellow Adventurers can wind down your day of exploration on your own with a savory meal in town. Start off your day of adventure with a delicious breakfast before heading out for your amazing day.
Discover some of Iceland’s natural beauty and wonders, including majestic waterfalls, natural hot springs and magnificent lava formations.
With a height of almost 40 feet, Goðafoss Waterfall, which translates to “Waterfall of the Gods,” is one of the most impressive waterfalls in Iceland. Get up close to the water’s edge to get a feel for the power of this natural wonder.
Check out the largest private bird collection in Iceland at this spectacular museum established following the pioneering work of Sigurgeir Stefansson. The interactive display of the collection is both interesting and educational and contains a specimen of all of the Icelandic breeding birds except one. There are also several bird hides where you can get close up to the wildlife for photography or bird watching.
See the smoking process that has been passed down through generations at this family-owned farm. Next enjoy a hearty lunch at Café Vogafjós, a unique café located inside the stable. The café offers not just a view of the cows, but also some of Iceland's most fresh and authentic cuisine.
Visit the lava fields at Dimmuborgir and you’ll see where the landscape, which means, “black castle,” gets its name. The lava pillars, columns and arches were created over 2,000 years ago and, as legend says, is the home to the Icelandic Yuletide Lads, 13 mischievous boys who are akin to a trouble-making Santa Claus.
Adventurers will take part in the baking of Iceland’s famous brown Geysir or rúgbrauð bread, which the locals commonly call "Bread in a Bucket", where dough is placed in buckets, buried underground and baked by the heat from nearby hot springs.
Cap off your day by relaxing in the soothing alkaline bathing lagoon while taking in the beauty of your natural surroundings. You can also experience a steam bath with natural geothermal steam that rises from the earth through vents in the floor.
Return to Akureyri relaxed after your visit to the Mývatn Nature Baths and enjoy a nice meal on your own as you reflect on the beauty and adventure of your exciting day. Take to the water for a dramatic, but not too intense adventure through some of Iceland’s most spectacular deep canyon scenery. This river rafting trip in Skagafjörður is mostly Class II rapids with the occasional Class III, so it’s perfect for the less experienced rafter. Dry suits are included to keep you warm!
